AAAA Records
AAAA Records - learn more information about them and when will you have to use one.
An AAAA record is an IP in the newly presented IPv6 format and it is comprised of 8 different sets of hexadecimal digits, as opposed to the IPv4 IPs, that include four groups of digits between 1 and 255. A good example of an IPv6 address would be 3014:0d43:23a3:2354:1320:8f3b:2635:3254 and with this format the amount of IPs which can be created is many times higher than the number of the IPv4 addresses. Every single domain name has its web hosting server Internet protocol as a record and in essence, that record tells the domain name where the site for it is located. Depending on the system the provider employs, the record will be called A (IPv4) or AAAA (IPv6). Changing this record permits you to host your website with one company and your email messages with a different one, so if you decide to use such a redirection to forward a domain to a server that uses an IPv6 address, you'll have to set up an AAAA record for it.

AAAA Records in Cloud Website Hosting
If you want to set up a new AAAA record for any domain or subdomain hosted inside your
cloud website hosting account, it won't take you more than several simple steps to do that. Our in-house built Hepsia Control Panel is very intuitive to use and is going to allow you to create or edit any record without difficulty. After you sign in and go to the DNS Records section, where you'll discover all existing records for your domain names and subdomains, you'll simply have to click the "New" button, choose AAAA from a small drop-down menu within the pop-up that'll appear, enter or paste the needed IPv6 address and save the change - it's as easy as that. The new record will be 100% working within only 1 hour and the hostname that you have created it for will start opening whatever content you have with the other provider. When required, you are also going to be able to edit the TTL (Time To Live) value, which shows the time in seconds which the new record will be active after you eventually edit it to something different or you simply erase it.

AAAA Records in Semi-dedicated Servers
Creating a new AAAA record is incredibly easy using our user-friendly Hepsia hosting Control Panel, so if you host a domain name in a
semi-dedicated server account from our company and you want such a record either for it or for a subdomain which you have created under it, you're going to be able to create it within a few simple steps and without any hassle. Hepsia includes a section devoted to the DNS records of your domain addresses where you can find all existing records or set up new ones with a few clicks. All it takes to accomplish this is to choose the domain/subdomain that you'd like to change, pick AAAA for the type from a drop-down menu and enter the actual record i.e. the IPv6 address that the other provider has given you. Within an hour after you save the change, the new record will propagate world-wide and your domain will start forwarding to the third-party web server. If they demand it, you may also edit the TTL value, which shows the time this record is going to be working with its current value before a new one takes over if you make any changes in the future.
