A catch-all mailbox receives emails sent to invalid email addresses under the very same domain name. For instance, an email message sent to the mistyped suport@domain.com will go to support@domain.com in case the catch-all feature has been enabled for the latter. Thus, you can receive emails from buddies or customers who may have sent a message to your email address with a typographical error or to an outdated one, which they may still have, but you have already disabled. Only one single mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be enabled for such a mailbox. The latter is due to the fact that at a certain moment you may start receiving spam email messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding limitation implies that the spam will not be received in a third-party mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Cloud Website Hosting
In case you have a Linux cloud website hosting with us and you want to activate the catch-all option for a particular e-mailbox that you have in your hosting account, it’ll take literally only a click of the mouse in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to achieve that. A catch-all button is available next to each email address that you have set up under any domain registered in your account. You can choose one address per domain by clicking on the corresponding button. This will enable the feature immediately, so all messages sent to misspelled addresses will be re-sent there. Clicking the button once more will disable the catch-all feature. In case you have enabled email forwarding, our system will exhibit a cautionary note and you won’t be able to enable the catch-all feature till you disable the forwarding or you can simply choose a different mailbox to be the catch-all one.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
The in-house created Hepsia Control Panel that is included with every semi-dedicated server package that we are offering will allow you to set up a catch-all mailbox without difficulty even if you don’t have much email/web hosting experience. All you need to do to achieve that is click the catch-all icon, which will be next to each email address that you’ve set up with your domain names in the Email Manager section of the Control Panel. As you can have just one single mailbox with this feature per domain, our system will let you know if you’ve already configured a different catch-all mailbox or if the one that you’d like to use has email forwarding activated. In case you reach the decision that you do not want this feature any longer, you can deactivate it by clicking again on the exact same icon. The Email Manager will also allow you to view your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
