NS Records
Find out what exactly NS records are and why they are critical for any domain.
The NS, or Name Server records of a domain name, point out which servers handle the Domain Name System (DNS) records for it. Setting the name servers of a particular host company for your domain address is the most effective way to direct it to their system and all its sub-records are going to be handled on their end. This includes A (the IP address of the server/website), MX (mail server), TXT (free text), SRV (services), CNAME (forwarding), etc, if you would like to modify any of these records, you'll be able to do it through their system. Put simply, the NS records of a domain name reveal the DNS servers that are authoritative for it, so when you try to open a web address, the DNS servers are contacted to get the DNS records of the domain you are attempting to reach. That way the website you'll see will be retrieved from the correct location. The name servers usually have a prefix “ns” or “dns” and each and every domain address has at least two NS records. There is absolutely no practical difference between the two prefixes, so what kind a hosting provider is going to use depends solely on their preference.

NS Records in Cloud Website Hosting
If you use a
Linux cloud website hosting from our company and you add a new domain name inside the account or transfer an existing one from another company, you'll be able to handle its NS records with ease through the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, which comes with all shared accounts. You can change the current name servers or enter additional ones for a single domain or even for a number of domains simultaneously with several clicks. This is done using the feature-rich Domain Manager tool that is a part of Hepsia and the user-friendly interface will make it simple to control your domain address even if it is the first you've ever registered. It takes only a mouse click to see what name servers a domain name uses at the moment or if they're the correct ones to direct a domain to the hosting space on our end and with only a couple of clicks more you are going to even be able to register private name servers for each of the domain names that you own. For the latter option you can use the IP addresses of each provider that you want the new NS records to direct to.

NS Records in Semi-dedicated Servers
Our
semi-dedicated server accounts are administered via Hepsia - an all-in-one tool with very user-friendly interface, which will permit you to manage your domain addresses easily even when you have not used a web hosting account or a domain previously. Changing the NS records for each and every domain address registered through our company, viewing the current ones and whether they are accurate or not as to point that domain name to our cloud hosting platform is also fairly simple and requires only a few mouse clicks. You will also be able to register child name servers under each and every one of your domains as a part of the free DNS management services which we provide with each and every plan and have ns1.your-domain.com and ns2.your-domain.com. The latter can be used for every domain that you accommodate within the semi-dedicated account, so if you offer services to third-parties and host their websites, employing this feature will give you much more credibility as a business.
